Professional Development

Evidence 1: Screenshot from ICHRIS Compliance Training 2023
As a staff member of St Patrick's Catholic School, I am required to complete nine Townsville Catholic Education Mandatory Compliance E-Learning Modules as a part of our annual compliance Training. This training demonstrates my achievement of the following descriptors for Standard 6 & 7 (6.2, 6.4, 7.1 and 7.2).

Through the nine modules, I was able to demonstrate how to meet codes of ethics and conduct established by regulatory authorities, systems and schools by completing topic specific quizzes at the end of each module (7.1). As a part of the training, I understood the implications of and how to comply with relevant legislative, administrative, organisational and professional requirements, policies and processes that are a part of the Townsville Diocese. This assists my future practice to be able to identify and following professional and legislative requirements at St Patrick's Catholic School (7.2).

Evidence 3: Screenshot from ICHRIS Early Career Teacher PD 2022 and 2023.
As apart of the Early Career teaching program, I undertook professional learning (6.2 and 7.4) in 2022 and 2023. I was able to reflect on teaching and learning with other like minded teachers who were just starting their career in the Townsville Diocese. While completing these PD's I was seeking further appropriate professional learning to improve my practice, network and learner outcomes within my classroom. I also participated in an ASD PD which assisted in identifying specific student learning needs and developing programs to assist interventions in the classroom (6.4).
Through our Religious Education (RE) fortnightly staff meetings we used this time to further strengthen our professional networks and abilities. Below is a screenshot from my principal and RE leader who organised a moderation session among the SMYLE early years teaching team (5.3, 7.4). Teachers were able to pick from 2 units previously completed and needed to provide student work and rubrics to moderate on. I chose to moderate a piece of work from the prep unit Who is Jesus?

Evidence 4: Screenshot of email sent to organise RE moderation staff meeting.
I uploaded a video, picture and blank rubric. As apart of this meeting, teachers analysed the video and picture and gave the prep student a 'new' grade. After listening to the reasons behind the grades other teachers gave, I used my teacher judgement and change this prep students grade from a C to a D due to the minimal amount of information in his answers when responding to stories of Jesus and teacher prompting asking for more information. Below is a screenshot of the students amended RE rubric (5.3).
