These parent communication methods demonstrate my achievement of the following descriptors for Standards 2, 3, 5 & 7 (2.3, 3.7, 5.5 & 7.3).
I have used a variety of methods to respectfully engage with parents and guardians regarding their children's learning and well-being. I've generated emails, school newsletter write ups and reports to demonstrate my ability to professionally communicate on student learning outcomes, concerns and address student well-being that follows school protocol.

Parent communication is a skill I am confident and comfortable completing due to the level of respect between myself and the parents in the Prep/Year One cohort.
Below are screenshots of emails sent between two different families. One email is reflecting on a student with anxiety, ADHD and an Intellectual Disability and how they went during their first day of school in Term Two. The second set of emails is to a new prep parent with a child who struggles with settling into morning routines when dropped off to school (5.5, 7.3).

Parent Communication
Another form of communication that demonstrates my ability to engage with parents/carers is through the fortnightly school newsletter. This allows for frequent and relevant communications to occur that relates to their child's learning.

In example 5, I use appropriate language to inform parents and carers of the learning concepts, unit themes and work completed in the Prep and Year One classroom.

I can successfully engage with parents, carers and the wider community through this newsletter and it is an opportunity to give a glimpse of the curriculum through the educative process (3.7, 7.3).

Example 5: St Patrick's Newsletter Term 3, Week 2 2024
I engage with parents and carers regarding their children's learning and well-being through semester reporting. This mandatory procedure provides me the opportunity to provide a current overview of their child's academic efforts in their learning. As a school we write personal and formal comments regarding their child's well-being, efforts, concerns and 'next-steps' for achievement. Subject specific concerns and next-steps can be seen in this student's English and Mathematics comment (page 3 and 4).

In this report, it is clear that I can engage with parents and carers on student learning and well-being through formal procedures that follow school protocols. I have developed reports demonstrating compliance with curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements to accurately and respectfully report to both students and parents about student achievement (2.3, 5.5 & 7.3).
